Wonder Review -Mouthie Mitten – Teething Magic!!

I have possibly tried out every teething product there is on the market by now…. !! I previously reviewed the Gummee Glove as loved the concept and thought it was a good product – so when we couldn’t get stock of the Gummee Glove in the pharmacy I was pretty disappointed. Our suppliers then got in touch to say they had gone to great trouble to get another teething glove – and I have to say – I’m very glad they did!!  The Mouthie Mitten (formerly much mitt!) is the same concept as the Gummee Glove but its actually quite different by design.  It is much lighter and fits onto my baby’s hands with less effort – there seems to have been more consideration to this process in its design.munchmitt edit

mouthie greenIt has a a silicone top which provides a great surface for your baby to chew on and rub against their gums which gives them relief from their teething pain.  It’s made with food grade silicone, BPA and Phthalate free.  It is lighter and more breathable than the Gummee Glove making it easier for a baby to lift and manoeuvre.  The weight means that even young babies with developing hand eye coordination manage this quite well.  We started using it at about three months and whilst use was limited he still seemed to enjoy it.  Its suitable up to one year but realistically is probably most useful from 5-9 months or so.

mouthie mitten pinkIt is great because it stops your baby sucking on their hands so much which can cause rash and irritation – between teething and thumb sucking my youngest seems to constantly have his hand in his mouth so I like that this protects him from rash and irritation caused by saliva.

It makes lots of crinkly noises and comes in nice bright colours so they really are very entertained by it!  It can be worn on either hand and changing sides may help with coordination!

Most importantly it can be machine washed on low and even tumble dried so I just fling mine in whenever there is a wash going on and depending on the amount of use its gotten and how slobbery a phase he is going through!!!  The silicone top which they chew on can be wiped clean without any fuss.

We stock it here in four gorgeous colours! – http://www.milltownpharmacy.ie/p/munch_mitt_yellow
